Assembling the Shock Absorber

Precision and control- these are the factors to guarantee Wilbers quality! In the following pictures you are shown, step by step, how a shock absorber is assembled.

1. After all the shock absorbers components are prepared… 2. … the locknut and screw ring are screwed on the cylinder.
3. … The milled shock leg containing the mount for the compression reservoir is also to be fastened onto the cylinder. 4. Low- and high-speed compression settings are carefully inserted.
5. Using the red adjustemt knob the rebound damping setting can later on be regulated 6. After that, the fork mount is screwed on.
7. Article number and information concerning the shocks week of construction are driven in the lower cylinder cap. 8. Now, the lead is mounted and…
9. …individual adjustment through the use of shims (between 16 to 38 pieces) is carried out. 10. After refilling with special oil…
11. … both components are assembled… 12. … and bled, respectively degassed.
13. The exact springs preload is set. 14. The mounting of the suspension spring concludes the assembly of the shock absorber after approx. one hour.
15. After more than 40 work-steps the shock is completed and must face final testing on the test stand.
